How Hair by Chrissy collects, uses and protects your personal data.
Last updated: November 2026
1. Who we are
Hair by Chrissy is a sole-trader hair styling business based at 189 Old Kent Road, London SE1 5NA, United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK data protection law, the data controller is the owner of Hair by Chrissy. You can contact us at hairbychrisy@gmail.com.
2. What data we collect
We only collect personal data when you actively provide it to us. This may include:
- Contact and booking enquiries (via the form on this website): your name, email address, phone number, and the message you send.
- Direct contact (phone, email or Instagram DM): any personal information you share in that communication.
We do not use cookies that require your consent. This website uses no tracking scripts, analytics platforms, or advertising networks. The only third-party request your browser makes is to load fonts from Google Fonts.
3. How we use your data
We use the information you provide solely to:
- Respond to your booking enquiry or question.
- Arrange and manage your appointment.
- Contact you about a confirmed booking (for example, to confirm a time or share the address).
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (responding to enquiries you have initiated) and, where a booking is confirmed, performance of a contract.
4. Who we share your data with
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing. Your enquiry form submissions are processed by Formspree (formspree.io), a third-party form handling service, which forwards them to our email inbox. Formspree processes data under its own privacy policy. We do not share your data with any other third parties.
5. How long we keep your data
Enquiry emails are kept only as long as necessary to manage your booking or answer your question, typically no longer than 12 months after your last contact with us. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see Your Rights below).
6. Your rights under UK GDPR
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the following rights:
| Right | What it means |
|---|---|
| Access | Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. |
| Rectification | Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data. |
| Erasure | Ask us to delete your data where there is no compelling reason to keep it. |
| Restriction | Ask us to limit how we use your data while a complaint is resolved. |
| Objection | Object to us processing your data on the basis of legitimate interests. |
| Portability | Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format. |
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hairbychrisy@gmail.com. We will respond within one month.
7. Cookies
This website does not set any cookies that require your consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). No analytics, advertising or tracking cookies are used. Google Fonts may set a session cookie strictly necessary to serve the font files; this is exempt from consent requirements under PECR.
8. Children's data
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 13. If you believe we have inadvertently done so, please contact us and we will delete the data promptly.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of this website after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
10. How to complain
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection. You can contact the ICO at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or by calling 0303 123 1113.
We would, however, appreciate the chance to address any concern directly before you approach the ICO, so please contact us first at hairbychrisy@gmail.com.
